Creating a Google Play Developer Account

To create a Google Play Developer Account, for your app to be published on the Google Play Store, visit https://play.google.com/console/developers but please read the rest of the info below first.

Sign up as a new developer using a generic email account account rather than your own work email. Use something that multiple people have access to, like comms@mycompany.com for example. Either way, you will still have to provide your real name as part of the enrolment process.

Please make sure you are singing up 'as an organisation' rather than as an individual developer.

Enter your organisation name and address etc exactly as it appears in your company's DUNS Dun & Bradstreet profile. It's important that this information matches as Google will use your DUNS profile to check that your details match.

If you are not sure what your DUNS number is, or exactly what your business name and address is listed as at DUNS, you can do a lookup here:

https://www.dnb.co.uk/duns-number/lookup.html

Note the above link is for UK companies, so if you're from a different country, simply google "DUNS lookup mycountry" and you'll find the appropriate D&B link for your particular country.

You will be asked to verify your account by answering some questions and submitting some documentation. Please follow all instructions on-screen to compete this process.

You will also be asked to pay a fee of £25 directly to Google to enrol as a developer.

After your account is both created and your details have been verified, you will then need to invite Thrive to your account so that we can publish and manage your app on your behalf.

Adding Thrive to your Google Play Developer Account

To publish your Android app on your behalf, we'll need access to your Google Play Developer Account.

While signed in to our account on the Google Developer Console, click 'Users and Permissions' in the left-hand menu, then click the 'Invite New Users' button:

On the next screen, enter developer@theappbuilder.com as the email address. Then click on the 'Account Permissions' tab, and tick to give us admin access. Finally, press the Invite User button:

Now send an email to your Client Success Manager to let them know you've sent the invite, and they'll log in to that inbox to accept it.
