Content Translation & App Localisation
App Localisation: Translation of Static English Text
Our App Localisation feature translates all of the hard-coded buttons, options, etc such as the app login screen, settings screen, error messages, from English into a number of supported languages. This Localisation however does not apply to any app content that you add using the Thrive CMS. App localisation comes included as standard with your Thrive license.

To enable App Localisation, simply choose which languages you want your app to support using the Thrive CMS. You can only do this with an Organisation Admin account, as you will need to access the Org Settings menu in the CMS. If you do not see the Org Settings menu at the top of the screen in the CMS, you do not have the required access.
To start, click on Org Settings in the Thrive CMS, then click on Languages in the menu to the left of the screen.
On this screen, you can select which languages your app will support, by ticking the box beside them. As of November 2024 we support the following languages:
Note: If you have a requirement for support for a language that is not currently on the list, we can add support for additional languages. Please discuss with your Client Success Manager. We cannot currently support RTL (right-to-left) languages such as Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, etc.
When you have finished ticking the languages you want your app to support for Localisation, simply press the blue Save button at the bottom of the screen.
Localisation will then translate the following English text into your supported languages when your app detects that is is installed on a device that is currently set to one of these as its default device language.

- Login screen (Already Registered - Login)
- Choose a new password / reset password screen
- Set up mobile number for password recovery / enter security code screen
- You're in! Registration successful confirmation screen
- User profile & People screen fields (Profile photo, Department, Job Title, Email Address, Phone Number, Edit, Save)
- Main Menu Options (Locker, Planner, People, Settings, Logout)
- Locker screens (Enter passcode, Search by Filename, Date Filters)
- Planner screens (Your upcoming events, Attending, Not Attending, etc)
- Settings screens (Clear Cache, Change Password, App Icon, Password Recovery, Request Account Deletion, Privacy Policy)
- Notification Centre / Mark all as read
- Search screen / Apply filters to search
- Like / Comment / Report Comment / Edit Comment
Again it is important to note that the App Localisation feature applies to this static English text only, and not to any of your app content. For translation of your app content, you will need our Dynamic Content Translation feature.
