Mobile technology is a fast moving area and this list is updated at least once per year as new versions of each operating system and device hardware becomes prominent in the market.  Our general rule is to support the latest two major versions of mobile Operating Systems and Browsers, however we temper this with market realities. One such reality is the slow uptake of new versions of Android, in this case we continue to test across the latest three major versions.

iOS Native Apps

Officially supported iOS versions are iOS 16 & iOS 17. As of August 2024, these account for 91% of all iOS devices. Apple provide up-to-date data of usage here.

For reference, iPhone and iPad devices running iOS 16 and above are:

iPhone X, XR, XS
iPhone XR
iPhone 11 / Pro / Pro Max

iPhone 12 / Mini / Pro / Pro Max
iPhone 13 / Mini / Pro / Pro Max

iPhone 14 / Plus / Pro / Pro Max

iPhone 15 / Plus / Pro / Pro Max
iPad 5th Gen & Later
iPad Air 3rd Gen & Later
iPad Mini 5th Gen & Later
iPad Pro 12.9"  All Versions

Android Native Apps

Supported Android Versions are Android 10.0 and above. Android 10 was introduced in September 2019, making it five years old as of 2024. As of this update to our Supported Environments, Android 14 is the latest version of Android, having been introduced in October 2023. We are therefore currently supporting the last five major Android versions.

As stated previously, we review our support for each Operating System version on an annual basis, so the above is subject change on release of new versions, and Google Play Store Developer requirements.

Due to the high number and variation of Android devices in circulation, we have to nominate a subset on which to physically test.  Our selection is based on some of the most popular devices sold.

If an Android device is running Android 9 or below, the Google Play Store will display a message to user, telling them that their device is not compatible with the app.

Thrive Webapp

The Thrive WebApp is compatible with a range of modern browsers, however the following subset of configurations is explicitly supported and tested. Unless specifically stated, the latest version of each browser is officially supported.

Apple iOS
Browsers: Safari, Google Chrome

Android OS
Browsers: Samsung Browser, Google Chrome

Desktop PC + Mac
