The Role


Thrive are looking to hire a Senior Product Designer who is passionate about designing and delivering high quality products in a dynamic, collaborative environment. As a business we appreciate that UX can be a key competitive advantage over our competitors, so we always aim to deliver the highest standards of experience that users expect from the best commercial grade apps. You will form part of a strong, experienced and motivated product and engineering team who highly value UX, with a direct line of contact to the company owners/directors and the ability to shape the future direction of the product and the company. You will play a key role in the further development of our core product to facilitate our ambitious growth plans

Your Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the overall design direction for the Thrive platform including designing for a cross-platform mobile app (Android + iOS), web app and Content Management System

  • Planning and executing iterative user testing alongside discovery research for features across the platform

  • Producing low and high-fidelity designs and prototypes

  • Collaborating with the Product Owner in determining feature requirements, leading idea generation workshops, and designing well-rounded solutions for Thrive's clients and users

  • Working closely with members of the wider team, sharing, and validating design ideas with engineers and business stakeholders.

  • Guiding the development team during feature development to ensure high quality output alongside QA testing of the designs before a release

  • Maintaining our internal design systems including the Sketch component libraries and our pattern library websites

  • Creating promotional material for customers that includes build assets for mobile apps

  • Continual research, identifying the latest trends in mobile app design (and design in general) to feed into Product Planning

Your Experience and Skills

  • 3-6 years’ experience with UX and UI design with a strong portfolio of work

  • Excellent visual design skills, attention to detail and iteration management

  • Ability to think and design holistically for a platform catering for varying end-user demographics and skillsets

  • Healthy experience of design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Marvel, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision or similar

  • Comfortable taking independent ownership and responsibility for the design direction based on the feature requirements

  • Regularly seeking feedback from other members of the engineering team to communicate and support your ideas and designs from a technical standpoint

  • Experience of interviewing stakeholders to analyse pain points and desired behaviour

Highly Desirable Experience

  • A third level qualification in Design, Human Centred Interaction, or relevant qualification

  • Comfortable with HTML and CSS

  • Experience designing native mobile solutions/understanding of iOS and Android mechanic
