October Day Spotlight V3

10th October: World Mental Health Day

For World Mental Health Day on 10th October, use your app to showcase the company's employee wellbeing resources that are on-offer to your employees. You might also consider a UGC Gratitude Wall to ask your employees to post about things they're thankful for. Or perhaps you might encourage your organisation's senior leaders to post to your app with a short video update discussing the importance of mental health awareness and again highlighting the wellbeing resources that the company offers.

17th October: National Pasta Day

If there's one thing we can all agree on enjoying, it's tasty grub! National Pasta Day on the 17th October is a great excuse to engage with the foodies among your employees. Celebrate National Pasta Day by posting some recipes to encourage your employees to try out in their kitchens - then follow it up with a User Generated Content section where they can post their pasta creations! Anyone who makes one of our recipes and posts their pics goes into a draw to win a meal for two at a great local Italian Restaurant!

20th October: Diwali

The Diwali Festival of Lights starting on Monday 20th October is an opportunity to add some cultural diversity and flavour to your employee app. Sticking with the food theme, you could do something like a virtual cook-along! Like the example shown below, you could ask an employee to record themselves making a traditional dish that would be commonly eaten during the Diwali festival. Ask your employees to follow along with the video to make their own versions, and get them to post their taste-test videos to the app!

24th October: United Nations Day

United Nations Day on 24th October is all about celebrating global unity, co-operation and diversity. Holding to these universal values also strengthens your organisation and workplace. Just like the UN brings together 193 nations; you can use your employee app to show pride in the achievements and actions of the many backgrounds, skills and perspectives that make up the workforce of your organisation. Ask your employees to take a moment on the 24th to recognise a colleague using your apps Peer to Peer Recognition section, who has gone above and beyond and whose actions demonstrate their commitment to your organisation's core values!

31st October: Halloween

Halloween offers lots of opportunities for engagement and fun content. You could have a pumpkin carving competition, a Halloween costume showcase, a section for ghoulish Halloween recipes, and much more.
