Add an Employee Q&A Section 💬

Encourage engagement and give your employees a sense of ownership of your app by adding a place where employees can submit questions and get them answered by the appropriate person in the organisation. This is a great use-case for our new Formbuilder feature: simply create your form to allow the employee to submit their question. When you receive a new question, send it on to the appropriate person to get the answer. Then create a new page in your Q&A List that contains both the question and the answer! To ensure that the 'asker' gets a notification to let them know their question has been answered, simply @mention them in a comment on the page!

Plan Your Comms With a Content Calendar 📆

Internal Communications often compete with day-to-day priorities, urgent requests, and last-minute updates. Planning with a Content Calendar brings structure to that chaos. By planning internal comms in advance, your team can move from reactive messaging to intentional communication that actually supports business goals. It creates consistency, which builds trust and credibility with employees over time.

Click here to read my blog post that outlines practical, step by step guidance and examples of how to effectively plan content for your Employee App using a Content Calendar.

Planning your Internal Comms with a Content Calendar and using this method to decide what needs to go in the plan not only ensures a steady stream of new, interesting and engaging content for your employees; but also places your app to become a key contributor to your overall business goals.

17th March: Celebrate Saint Patrick's Day ☘️

While St. Patrick's Day is traditionally an Irish holiday, these days it's celebrated all around the world! Why not use St. Patrick's day on 17th March as an excuse to have a little bit of fun with your employee app?

If you're regularly changing the theme of your in-app photo wall like we recommend, then change up the theme for March to ask your employees to post pics of their St. Patrick's celebrations, supporting Ireland in the Six-Nations Rugby, or even their most creative Irish recipes!

Or for those without themed photo walls, how about a St. Patrick's day quiz for your employees? Here's one we made earlier:

St. Patrick's Day Quiz

Simply add that URL to your app as a Web Page inside a List. Or if you would like that customised to ask your employees to enter their name & contact details at the end, to enter a competition just drop an email to support@thrive.app and we'll be happy to do that for you!

Highlight and Celebrate Progression, Promotions & Wins 👏

Use your app to celebrate and give visibility to employees who are progressing their careers and moving up in your organisation through promotions or attaining new skills and certifications!

The simplest way to go about this is by adding a monthly feature to your Latest News & Updates section. Plan it into your content calendar each month, and tie-in with the relevant people in the Operations, HR, Recruitment and Training teams to ask them to keep you informed about employees gaining promotions, attaining new certifications, or getting industry-wide awards and recognition for their work.

8th March: International Women's Day 🙋‍♀️

Here are a few ideas about how you could use your employee app to mark International Women's Day on 8th March, and celebrate the contributions of your women employees, without being performative or tokenistic...

Publish a Leadership Spotlight article - interviews / Q&As with women in senior leadership positions in your organisation.

Harness your app's Peer to Peer Recognition feature to encourage your employees to give a shout-out to women in the business who have helped and inspired them in their careers.

Use your app to let your employees know about any specific women-focused initiatives that have been previously launched by your organisation. For example; does your business offer free period products in employee toilets? Use your app to celebrate that and let your employees know. Or do you have any initiatives to improve access and training for women into areas of the business where they are typically under-represented? Again, your app is the perfect place to highlight these initiatives and give your women employees information about how they can apply!
